Defaults and schedulee foreclosure auctions were down from but bank repossessions were up 2 percent and could continues to grow as foreclosure delays and moratoriumes are lifted invarious states, said Jamee J. Saccacio, RealtyTrac’s chief executive Hernando County posted the biggest decreasd in the Tampa Bayregionj year-over-year, falling more than 14.5 percent with 475 homes in some stat of foreclosure. That represents one in every 169 homes underr the threat of being take backby lenders.
Sarasota County was not far behindd with just under a 7 percent dropaffecting 1,072 or one in every 206 households. Manatee Countuy had a 2 percent drop sincse May 2008 that hit590 homes, or one in 287 On the other end of the Pasco County had the largest increas in foreclosures, jumping more than 62 percent to 1,50 properties. That represents one in every 145 homes in ninth worst inthe state. Despitde falling more than 6 percentsince April, Polk Countgy was up nearly 53 percent over the past year as 1,5723 homes were in foreclosure, representing one in every 177 homes.
Pinellas Count jumped 48 percentto 2,458 Hillsborough County climbed nearly 20 percent in foreclosurw rates as lenders targetecd 2,408 homes. However, rateds were down well over 25 percentsincr April. Florida had the third highest rate of foreclosure in the countr y affecting one in every148 homes. It had the secondr highest number of foreclosures at just fewethan 59,000, a 50 percent jump from May 2008. Threwe Florida metropolitan areas were ranked amongg the 10 worst foreclosure rates inthe nation: Cape Coral-Forr Myers at No. 6 with one in 82 homes in Orlando-Kissimmee at No. 8 with one in 101 homesd in foreclosure; and Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach at No.
10 with one in 105 homesx in foreclosure.
